Mechanical Packaging Engineer – Erie

CDI has an exciting opportunity waiting for you! We are looking for exceptional people! We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Packaging Engineer!

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical packaging and integrated system cooling design of high power electronics cabinets and related printed circuit board control assemblies to support inverter driven AC propulsion equipment and auxiliary power
- Perform structural, thermal, vibration and voltage isolation analysis
- Perform integrated ventilation airflow and component cooling analysis
-Coordinate the creation of fabrication and assembly drawings on the Unigraphics CAD system
- Lead the validation and qualification of new cooling and ventilation related components
-Perform integrated system level cooling and structural validation
-Support manufacturing for assembly to achieve high manufacturability, and write change orders to fix any errors or document improvements in the drawings


Basic Qualifications / Requirements
-BS Mechanical Engineering


Desired Qualifications
-BS in Mechanical Engineering or MSME preferred
- 1 year demonstrated experience in structural and heat transfer analysis
-Experience in mechanical packaging and thermal management of electronics
-Must also demonstrate knowledge of light fabrication manufacturing processes to verify assembly manufacturability
-Knowledge of voltage isolation and current conduction in buss bars, terminals and connectors
- Experience in ventilation system design and analysis, heat transfer analysis, fan selection, airflow measurements, fan performance testing
-Experience in integrated structural; vibration, thermal and heat transfer analysis
-Knowledge of heat sink design
-Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis or Six Sigma certified
