Description
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Develop & execute plans for testing the cooling & equipment ventilation systems for new locomotives. - Lead the construction & instrumentation of test rigs that will be used to validate system performance & demonstrate component reliability. - Collect & reduce data from the tests. Use that data to make recommendations to improve performance capability, minimize cost, & maximize reliability. - Create written reports that clearly summarize the results of the testing.
Basic Qualifications / Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering. - Minimum of two years in a mechanical engineering position within a heavy-industrial environment. - Experience in performance testing of fluid systems air & water. - Solid project management skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with data collection systems. - Working knowledge of DFMEA's & other DFSS methodologies. - Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools & systems. - Strong oral & written communication skills. - Strong interpersonal & leadership skills. - PC proficiency.
